This is what I was busy dong....

The Afternoon tea for Habitat for Humanity in my garden was a huge success thanks to your participation!   Thanks so much for attending and for your donations.   $325.00 was the final tally raised.  You will be receiving your receipts in the mail.

The little habitat origami houses filled with a chocolate date truffle were most popular so here is the recipe for those interested, along with the scone recipe.

Chocolate Date Truffles                                   Scones
¾ cup sultanas                                                                        2 cups self raising flour
1 cup pitted dates                                                                  80g butter
3Tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder                          ¾ cup non fat greek yoghurt
1 Tablespoon boiling water                                                   2 Tablespoons lemonade (diet is fine)
½ cup skim milk powder
¼ cup ground almonds                                                         Rub butter into sifted flour until the mixture resembles fine
crumbs.   Mix in yoghurt and lemonade and pat out on a floured
Place all ingredients into food processor and                    board.  Cut into circles and place quite close together on a
pulse until finely chopped.  Add more water                      baking sheet.  Brush with beaten egg and bake at 200*C for
if necessary. Roll teaspoonfuls of the mixture                 10 minutes.  Serve with jam and cream, in the garden J
and drop into a bowl of chocolate sprinkles,
roll around to coat and then insert into little
paper cups.  Refrigerate – can be stored for
up to two weeks in the fridge.

As a little gift for you I am enclosing a bag of rosella seeds so you can grow your own rosella tea!

I am so glad to have had the pleasure of your company for afternoon tea in my little garden

Here is a close up of my little origami boxes - this is a great place to find origami instructions.....http://en.origami-club.com/nature/house1-3d/index.html

My teabag cookies were made with crushed rosebuds (rose is the flavour of turkish delight) I found the recipe here: tea-bag-cookies. I didn't dip mine in chocolate - there was already too much sugar on the table!

I love having a pretty garden to entertain in - do you entertain in your garden?

Oh you must do it! I believe beautiful things should be used, not tucked away in the cupboard!

  7. So you could have dipped them in Sugar-free chocolate!
Mom says you should have had cream in the scones, not fat free yoghurt. Fat is good for you, we need to grease our joints somehow!

  8. Hi Dave,
Mmm I could have.... Oh I get plenty of fat from elsewhere - yoghurt is good for you too! the yoghurt seemed to make the scones lovely and light. we had jam and cream on top of the scones!
