Tropical colour and chocolate pudding for breakfast

the only thing that makes this time of year with the heat and humidity bearable is the tropical colour in the garden...

and a close up of the beautiful blooms

The hidden orange gingers

and a  close up of those blooms....

this is also the season for tropical fruits, my lychee tree has not produced any fruits after the pruning, but a neighbor gave me a large bag, and there are always pawpaw, then mangoes, and at the markets I bought a black sapote - also known as chocolate pudding fruit - great with yoghurt and granola for breakfast!

It is too hot to garden - but luckily these tropical plants can just fend for themselves while I make snowflakes int he aircon!

  2. I live in Darwin and love this time of year. There are so many luscious tropical fruits around. Rambutans are everywhere here at the moment.

    1. Sueb,
glad I could cheer up your dull day. well it is a bit of an acquired taste - you have to wait until it is very very ripe, and you don't want to wait too long otherwise it goes rotten!

  4. I have to try that chocolate pudding fruit. I've never even heard of it. Something tells me it won'd be sold at the local Aldi but I'll try my local green grocer.

    1. Laura,
I don't think they would ship very well - you might have to plan a holiday here in the summer!

  5. That black sapote fruit looks very interesting....never heard of it before.
The weather here is hot and dry, and there is hardly any sign of my lawn!!
Your garden is still looking good despite the heat...can't say the same for mine.
